Safety and Security for Tourism Destinations

Students will be introduced to the basic relationships between crime, terrorism, and the tourism/travel industry. Emphasis is placed on how members of the security industry effect tourism. Students will understand the importance of integrating the security professional into the tourism industry. This course is designed to provide students with the tools to:

  • Identify how tourism theory impacts the work of the security professional
  • Be aware of security and new social groups
  • Address issues of security and customer service
  • Develop security plans.
