This course will give you an overview of the main operating areas within hospitality (hotel) management and expose you to some fundamental management concepts and practices that should provide the foundation for your success in the industry. Students will learn about:

  • The special roles hotels have in their communities.
  • How hotels could be the locus for public and private, occasionally historic, events, economic engines and a city within a city.
  • The broad variety of activities and events that hospitality managers are involved in.
